Case Study: Maximum Performance

Maximum Performance is a training company which provides both in-house and open training programs. Key areas of focus are sales training and management training. Maximum Performance decided to use Aptimore alongside their open Management Development Program (MDP) to create a blended development experience.

The MDP consisted of 8 days of face-to-face training, which took place at intervals of about a month. The participants came from a variety of different organisations, ranging from large corporates like Whitbread and global organisations like DAI to small and medium sized companies. Most participants had recently made a step up into a broader role – or were preparing to take on greater management responsibility.

Aptimore provided advice on how to align the online units to fit with with Maximum Performance’s course structure. The participants’ welcome pack then included a schedule of Aptimore units to complete before each face-to-face training day.

The online units ensured that participants had a good grounding in each topic before each training day. Within each online unit, participants received personal feedback to reflect on, giving them additional perspectives and insight in preparation for the face-to-face session.

The course leader for the program was Cyrus Cooper. His style as a trainer is encourage plenty of discussion in small groups. This was an ideal setting to encourage participants to share and reflect. Rich conversations led to deeper insight and allowed participants to integrate what they had learned from both the online and face-to-face training sessions.

Throughout the MDP course, Cyrus and his administrator, Helen, were able to track their learners’ progress using the overview reports within the Aptimore system.

Participants reported that they had gained significant insight from the blended approach, and Maximum Performance decided to use Aptimore in subsequent Management Development Programs.
